Brawlhalla World Tour Overview

The 2020 Brawlhalla World Tour is a hyper focused international esports program that is easy to follow for both players and viewers. Through its comprehensive but simple format it will organically create narratives and story lines that will culminate at the 2020 Brawlhalla World Championship.

Leaderboard and Rules

The leaderboard of the 2020 Brawlhalla World Tour uses the official Brawlhalla Power Ranking system. This is the same system that the 2019 Brawlhalla Esports season used. Every tournament on the tour will affect Power Rankings. Power Rankings are tracked on a per-region basis.

Power Rankings are a summary of tournament performance. They consider many factors that a simple accumulative leaderboard system could not, such as: how important each tournament was, how recent each tournament was, who beat who, who lost to who, how consistent are the players, etc.

The 2020 Brawlhalla World Tour Competitive Rule set can be found at https://www.smash.gg/brawlhalla/rules.

The Official Brawlhalla Power Rankings can be found at https://www.brawlhalla.com/rankings/power/ and in the esports section of the in-game client.

2020 Brawlhalla World Championship

The 2020 Brawlhalla World Championship is an open-entry $200,000 event for both singles and doubles in North America, Europe, Australia, Southeast Asia and South America. The doubles tournament will work like every doubles tournament over the entire season. The singles tournament is broken down into two phases.

The first phase of the World Championship for NA, EU, and SA is an open-entry double-elimination bracket in which the winner qualifies to play in the World Championship Final. For AUS and SEA, the top 8 players in the Power Rankings will qualify for the World Championship.

The World Championship Final is a double-elimination bracket where every competitor has qualified for their spot through either Power Rankings or Last Chance Qualifiers. Each region has a specific amount of qualifier spots through Power Rankings and LCQ’s.

Here is how many players will qualify for the The World Championship Final from each region via Power Rankings.

  • North America – 31
  • Europe – 31
  • South America – 15
  • Australia – 8
  • Southeast Asia – 8
  • Last Chance Qualifiers – 3 (one NA, EU, and SA)

This makes it so that the World Championship Finals for NA/EU is top 32, SA is top 16, and AUS/SEA is top 8.
